Unlike any other fighting game, Bushido Blade introduces the Motion Shift System, in which a player enters the commands in conjunction with the movement of the character as each movement is built upon the previous motion. Therefore, the player must coordinate the commands by actually watching and sensing the movement of the character. The Motion Shift System allows the player to experience the art of Bushido, coordinating each movements of the character.

Bringing the true nature of fighting, the characters are not limited in the areas they can move. Set in a vast area of the castle ruins, the characters are free to run to different parts of the Castle. The characters are capable to attack their opponents on the run as well. This realism brings the fighting to another level.

No life meter. No time limit

Damage is done by location, type, and position of the attack. The player experiences a real-life sword fight, in which the character gets injured from an attack or may be fatally killed with just one blow.
